New Home

Our neighbors moved :( They had so many life changes in the past year. Kristen married, had a baby in late May and just moved! They are not that far away but still we will miss them being right next door. Here is a card I made for Kristen, Bill and baby Sam. Our best wishes to them.

Thank You Card for Swim Instructor

For the past two weeks Emily has been taking swimming lessons. She has really improved since last year and I am really proud of her. She has become a little fish. Her instructors are young high school and college students. This is the card I made for each instructor. I will include a gift card for Rita's water ice as a small thank you gift.
The swim girl was provided by the very sweet and creative Amber from http://my3escrapbooking.blogspot.com/. I thought this was a cut from Car Decals which I just purchased from ebay, but it wasn't and she was so kind to make me a few and mail them to me. Thanks again Amber.

The little "pocket" on the upper inside of the card is for the gift card.

Recipe:
Kraft card stock, aqua card stock
Sizzix embossing folder
Swim Girl from Amber and her E2
Round punch from Fiskars
Just a Note stamp from Pink by Design Scripted Year

Boardwalk layout

2009

Every summer we go to Wildwood,NJ. Sometimes we stay at the Port Royal Hotel, in Wildwood Crest, sometime we stay with my sister in West Wildwood or with my best friend and her family in North Wildwood. Wherever we stay we make sure we get to the boardwalk. This is a layout from a trip in 2009. The boys are my best friend's children - Sean and Paul. They are such good sports going on the 'kiddy' rides with Emily. They even did it this year, but I  think they were a little embarrassed to be on the train. We were teasing them that we just saw their friends. I love those Wildwood Days!!

A Flip Flop Kind of Day!

Flip Flops - the shoes I wear most of the summer. Here is an A2 card with a digi stamp. Sorry I forget where I downloaded it from. I glossed the sunglasses and added flowers and gems on the flip flops. I colored the stamp with pencils. Inside I added a Writers Block - medium squares calypso from www.heidiswapp.com

We will always remember you Justice!

This afternoon we loss one of our family members, our pet cat Justice. We got him as a baby right after 9/11 so we named him Justice. We didn't even know anything was wrong with him. I was taking my daughter to the pool this afternoon, but realized I forgot something so I went back into the house and saw Justice laying in our garden, panting and salivating heavy. I never saw him like that and he would not move. I got my husband and rushed him to the vet who ran a series of tests, gave him oxygen. Turns out his red blood count was 8 which is really low for a cat. He actually went into cardiac arrest, but they brought him back.  He needed a blood transfusion to get his red blood count up to normal. They were going to rush him to emergency care facility about 10 minutes away to get the transfusion.  We drove to meet them there. They pulled up, but he was already in arrest. They worked on him for 15 minutes, giving him 6 shots of epinephrine and CPR. I was glad we were able to see him and say goodbye. He was such a fun loving, fluffy, big mainecoon cat. He was friendly and a great part of our family.

We will miss him dearly.

At the Shore!

Sorry I haven't posted anything this week. While my husband was away for work, I took our daughter to the Jersey shore to visit family and friends. The ocean was gorgeous and Emily really loved it. I spent my summers at The Wildwoods and loved spending my days at the beach with my best friend and family, so I was so happy to see my daughter really enjoy the ocean this summer.
