Christmas Happenings

Hello! What a nice birthday and Christmas with family. Emily loved the huge dollhouse Santa brought her. It was so much fun seeing the look on her face! My husband gave me a Kindle for my birthday and a Gypsy for Christmas!! I am so excited to learn how to use both. On the 26th we received a lot of snow. It's beautiful, but the wind is brutal. Now my husband is working overtime getting ready for the Mummers parade on January 1st - a Philadelphia tradition.

What a Day :)

Wow! What a busy and fun day. First we went to a very nice church service that really put us in the Christmas spirit with special singing guest Dave Boyer. What a voice God has blessed him with. After church my daughter and I went to our very first cookie exchange. It was great to get so many different cookies. We then went to our church's annual Christmas dinner where Santa and Mrs. Clause visited with the children and Dave Boyer performed again with us. I ended the night reading part of the Nativity story to my daughter as she went to sleep.

Christmas Happenings

This weekend our family will be attending the New Life Christian Christmas dinner at the Radison. Emily is excited because Santa and Mrs Claus will be there and each child can visit with them and receive a gift. During this time of preparing for the holiday, buying presents, decorating, and sending cards we need to pause and remember the true meaning of Christmas - the best gift of all - our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Newtown Christmas Parade

Yesterday my daughter and I joined our church congregation and walked in the Newtown Annual Christmas Parade. New Life Christian Church had two floats. The best being a living Nativity scene with Roman soldiers, shepherds, Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus and about 30 animals including a camel, llamas, donkeys, calf, goats and chickens. Each year the parade gets bigger and bigger. The Uptown Stingband, my husband is a member, played Christmas tunes. It was a fun day.

New to Blogging

I'm new to this as you can tell but I will work at creating a fun blog. I'm still trying to design the layout and may change the name.
